Harvey Caton moves to the Milltek Sport Civic Cup for 2022 with JW Bird Motorsport

Sixteen-year-old Harvey Caton is the latest of a batch of new drivers to debut in the 2022 Milltek Sport Civic Cup, where he will compete in the Cup Class supported by JW Bird Motorsport.

Runner-up in last year’s Junior Saloon Car Championship, Caton moves up to a new level of single-make tin-top action as he joins the series for controlled specification Civics, driving an EP3 version.

The teenager joins the series in a year that sees new talent taking on the more experienced drivers in what is shaping up to be a fiercely fought season between the newcomers and regulars.

Caton sampled a Honda last year at Donington Park as part of his prize for finishing second in the Junior Championship and having enjoyed the experience, is excited to be joining the Civic Cup this year:

“It’s great to know I’ll be competing in this season’s Civic Cup. Driving these cars is a tonne of fun alone, so I can’t imagine how good it will be to get involved in some side-by-side action.

“It’s a big step from the Junior Championship but it’s a challenge I’m ready for. Driving a car with twice the horsepower of the Saxo I used last year coupled with the speed the Civic carries through the corners is going to be awesome.

“I’m hoping the skills I learnt from racing in the JSCC series will carry over to my debut season in the Civic Cup and with the support of my team, JW Brid Motorsport, I can work towards the top of the timesheets.”
