Bensley resets his focus on 2022 Civic Cup season

Ryan Bensley is the latest driver to confirm his participation in the 2022 Milltek Sport Civic Cup, as he prepares to put a challenging 2021 season behind him.

With two top five finishes his best results from last year, Bensley has spent the winter looking into every area of his performance to see where he can improve and in doing so, make sure he is a frontrunner this year.

Up until now Ryan, supported by his father Steve (better known as “Beano”) engineering the car, is engaging the support of Zest Racecar Engineering for 2022 and hopes that by moving from a privateer operation to being part of a larger team will pay dividends from the first round onwards at Cadwell Park in May.

“Last year didn’t go as well as hoped for a number of reasons. Instead of being able to concentrate on driving in what should have been a competitive car, I was in firefighting mode at each round,” explains Ryan.

“It meant I wasn’t able to get the best out of the car and in such a competitive series, you have to make every second and every championship point count.

“Running with Zest Racecar Engineering this year means that I can focus on the things that matter and make sure I give my best as a driver, whilst ‘Beano’ and the team will making sure I have the best car possible.”
