Alistair Camp leads the way in busy Anglesey free practice

Cup class leader Alistair Camp topped the timesheets in the Free Practice session at Anglesey whilst Production class leader Mervyn Beckett was fastest in what turned out to be a busy session at the Welsh venue

Camp waited for the track to build up some grip in what was a dry session and set the bar early on at 1:44.736 with Dave Buky beating that with 1:44.544, however, Matt Luff soon set a quicker time with a 1:42.300.

Camp kept going quicker as Jamie Tonks tried to surpass his quickest lap however their efforts were not enough as the three-time race winner ended the session fastest on a time of 1:41.016 with Tonks, Luff and George Alp-Williams completing the top five places in the session.

With the times tumbling in the Cup Class, Beckett was never headed in the Production Class as he set a time of 1:46.154 which his nearest rivals struggled to match.

Rhys Lewis got into the mix early on to try and depose Beckett from the top of the class times, whilst both Alfie Threlfall and Harry Threlfall put in early efforts to close the gap on the class leader but fell short.

With three minutes of the session left, Harry Threlfall put himself into second place during the session as both Matthew Stenning and Lewis traded times for third place in class.

As the flag fell on the session, Beckett remained on top with 1:45.269 ahead of Harry Threlfall who was the better part of over two seconds behind, with Lewis, Stenning and Alfie Threlfall completing the top five in Free Practice.

Qualifying for race one gets underway at 10:40 am and will be live-streamed on the series Facebook page and YouTube account.
