Milltek Civic Cup winners to receive TCR test prize

In a move that makes this year’s Milltek Sport Civic Cup an even more attractive proposition for competitors wanting to make a name from themselves in saloon car racing, championship organisers are excited to announce that the top three drivers in both the Cup and Production classes will be rewarded with a test drive in a Honda TCR car.

The introduction of these aspirational prizes adds to the ever-increasing list of competitor-benefits for 2021. Currently these include a series of high-profile meetings, increased spectator numbers, supporting car shows, live streaming TV, sector timing, more races and greater value for money for teams and drivers.

Whilst the date and venue are yet to be confirmed, the six prize winners will be offered the opportunity to drive one of the Maximum Motorsport-owned Honda Civic TCRs that will be competing in this year’s Touring Car Trophy and TCR UK races.

Championship Manager and Maximum Motorsport team principal Stewart Lines is eager to see the top-three drivers in each of the Milltek Sport Civic Cup Classes behind the wheel of an international specification Touring Car:

For anyone looking to progress in the sport, having the chance to step up to a higher category in formal test conditions without having to pay for the privilege is a rare opportunity. I’m therefore delighted that we can offer this unique and valuable prize to the best three drivers in each of this year’s Civic Cup classes.

“Having received nearly 50 registrations so far, there’s no disputing that whoever wins these prizes is going to have earned their place. We hope that if they get on well in the test, they may move on to race in one of our other championships, either the Maximum Networks Volkswagen Racing Cup or the Goodyear Touring Car Trophy/TCR UK.”
