Milltek Sport Civic Cup announces new-look season in 2021

Organisers of the Milltek Sport Civic Cup are excited to announce plans that will bring a brand new look to its season in 2021, an initiative that will see it follow the same calendar as the hugely popular UK Time Attack Championship. This fresh approach brings with it a change of organising club, more races and a higher profile, plus a range of additional benefits for competitors.

The season comprises a total of 16 races at seven meetings, with the one-day events hosting two races and the double-headers three. Other than the season-opener at Anglesey, all other rounds will feature an established supporting car show that will ensure high spectator numbers and greater spectacle.

Further benefits for next year will see competitors enjoy greater value for money with more track time and no change in entry fees from that of 2020. There’s also live streaming TV coverage of all sessions, the introduction of sector timing and a valuable prize fund up for grabs. And, to guarantee that each race is a fiercely fought affair, the championship features a set of carefully controlled technical regulations.

We are delighted to be able to offer this innovative and exciting package to our teams and drivers”, said Championship Manager Stewart Lines. “This new association with Time Attack enables the Milltek Sport Civic Cup to take a significant step forward next year. It will allow us to build on the already established format, attract even more competitors and in doing so increase the size of our grids. Exciting times ahead indeed!”

The 2021 Milltek Sport Civic Cup is a single make championship for EP3, FN2 and FK models fitted with a 2-litre K-Series engine, manufactured between 2001 and 2011. Regulations dictate that only a limited number of modifications can be carried out, with many of the standard OE parts retained – a feature that ensures costs are kept to a minimum and competition remains close throughout the season.

Entries are now invited – and with overall competitor numbers dictated by maximum track limits, organisers recommend early application.
